Surf lessons for beginners

Is this your first time surfing?  Then let Ben our British Surfing Association qualified instructor show you the way. He will be in the  surf giving you loads of help, tips and encouragement. Although these are group lessons, instruction is very individual and we let you learn at your own pace.

Our beginner surf lessons follow the ‘ABC’ structure set up by the British Surfing Association. The aim of the beginners lesson is to start from having never stood on a surf board to where you will be standing up. We supply all the equipment with warm wetsuits and the correct board for your size and ability.

Our lesson is broken down to make it as simple as possible. Learn about beach safety and your surfboard you will be using. Then we will get hit the water and practice catching waves, getting your position correct and learning to stand on your feet.

Our aim is to provide lessons that are both fun and safe. We will select the best beach to hold your lesson on either Barra or Vatersay. All you need to bring is a towel, some warm clothes waterproof sunscreen, and a good sense of humour. We’ll do the rest!
